WESTER LINE - 1858 STARR

4. Starr double action.jpg

The Right Gun at the Wrong Time: The 1858 Starr

The castle was made up of two parts, held in the closed position by a screw pin positioned at the top, between the hammer housing and the recoil shield. Another novelty was the absence of the pin on which the drum should have rotated. Unfortunately Mr. Starr, towards the middle of 1863, found himself forced to transform his brilliant double action revolver, the STARR DA MODEL 1858 cl 44. He thus managed to produce an effective and economical weapon, the STARR SA MODEL 1863 ARMY Cal .44.
